After a few conversations in our Discord and much behind-the-scenes discussion, the Shadows in the West crew has decided to temporarily suspend our usual episode-posting schedule. We are excited to share the story of Shadows in the West with everyone, but it’s become clear that text-based episodes are not a very accessible or engaging format through which to tell it. We would rather focus the time and energy it takes to edit our logs towards a format that is more easily consumed: audio.
Things have already been set in motion for this, but it will be a significant amount of work (and rework) and we are still hammering out the kinks and finalizing the details. While we don’t have a solid release date for you, we are hoping that we will be able to start posting these recorded episodes within the next few months.
In the meantime, we will continue to share updates, art, quality memes, etc. via twitter and tumblr, and all of the text-based episodes posted so far will remain on the website. You’re also welcome to come hang out on our Discord server ( discord.gg/tTqTrDp ) to chat about SitW or L5R in general.
Thank you to everyone who has shown their support for Shadows in the West so far. It’s heartwarming to know there are others out there who share our appreciation for a more mystical (and gay) AU Rokugan. We hope that the new format will allow us to share our version of it with you in a way that is more accessible—and enjoyable!
